Freddie the Frog

Last week Finley got a special treat - he got to host Freddie the Frog.  The kids in Finley's class are taking turns hosting Freddie and writing about their adventures in a shared journal.  Freddie was only with us for a few days, but Finley and Charlotte made the most of their time with him.

Freddie helped out with some construction work - here is is riding on the crane.

Story time, featuring more trucks, of course.

Making Valentines for the class with Freddie.

Freddie's last morning with us.  No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get a photo where Finley, Charlotte, and Freddie were all looking at the camera at the same time.  Typical - even the inanimate object won't cooperate when we're trying to take a photo.

We did more than just hang out with Freddie this past week.  While Dad was in VT for a ski race, Mom took the kids for a little hike.

The kids like to play hide and seek when we're out hiking.

Charlotte has neither the wardrobe nor the instincts for hide and seek.  She usually hangs out in plain sight giggling and saying, "I'm hiding!"

Sparkly black playdough is perfect for construction work...

...or baking, if you don't mind the strange color.

We're introducing the kids to Mexican Train, an Alsobrook family favorite.  For now, we just take turns putting dominoes on one big train - easy enough for the kids to handle, and they seem to enjoy it.
