Sand everywhere!!!

Today was warm and sunny... And even though our backyard is still covered in snow and ice, Finley somehow convinced me to brush the rest of the snow off the sandbox cover and start the sandbox season. Charlotte is big enough to sit and play with him now, and the two of them had a blast pushing around trucks and playing in the sand and sun. When it was time to come inside, everyone was sad to leave their fun sandbox behind!

Ah. Now I remember what last summer was like - sand everywhere!!!! I made the kids strip off their clothes at the door and head straight to the tub, but even so it seems like the floors in every room are gritty with sand! Finley had sand in his hair and ears and somehow on his toes! Charlotte had sand stuck all over her face, and somehow in her bellybutton. Oh my! I'm going to have to get used to this again! But, watching the kids have fun together in the box was worth the gritty floors! At least on sandbox season day one....... Check in with me again mid-August and I might say something different!!!

6-12 inches of snow are expected here in the next couple of days, so it might be a bit before we get to re-live the fun of today....
