It recently occurred to us that we never mentioned on the blog that Finley has been basically crawling for a while now. His scooting and inching around just sort of gradually progressed into more crawl-like movement. For the last week or so, he has been getting around the house quickly and efficiently, but without the opposite hand and knee movement that we think of with crawling. Well, finally today I noticed that he really has the opposite hand and knee thing down. So - Finley is officially crawling (but really has been for a while already!) As you can see from this picture, he'll pretty much crawl anywhere!
In other (bigger?) news, Finley pulled himself up to standing for the first time today. He did it four times (that we witnessed) and the fourth time actually let go with one hand as he took a couple of steps while holding on with the other hand. After several seconds of standing, he started fussing and I think was wondering how the heck to get down from his new position!! I wasn't expecting this yet, so have quite a bit of baby-proofing work ahead of me in the next few days...
